Low-Voltage Class Buffers with Quiescent Current Control

چکیده
This paper presents a simple class AB buffer which is suitable for low-voltage (1.5 V) applications. The proposed buffer uses an adaptive load to reduce the sensitivity of the quiescent current to the process variation. The main feature of this scheme is its simplicity. The circuit was fabricated in a 2.0 m digital CMOS process. Experimental results demonstrate that the buffer can operate with a supply voltage below 2 V, and it has the capability to drive small resistive loads.

Class-AB circuits, which are able to deal with currents several orders of magnitude larger than their quiescent current, are good candidates for low-power and high slew-rate analog design. This paper presents a novel topology of a class AB flipped voltage follower (FVF) that has better slew rate and the same power consumption as the conventional class-AB FVF buffer previously presented in liter...
متن کاملFully Differential Current Buffers Based on a Novel Common Mode Separation Technique
In this paper a novel common mode separation technique for implementing fully differential current buffers is introduced. Using the proposed method two high CMRR (Common Mode Rejection Ratio) and high PSRR (Power Supply Rejection Ratio) fully differential current buffers in BIPOLAR and CMOS technologies are implemented. Simulation results by HSPICE using 0.18μm TSMC process for CMOS based st...
متن کاملAn Ultra-Low Quiescent Current CMOS Low-Dropout Regulator with Small Output Voltage Variations
An ultra-low quiescent current low-dropout regulator with small output voltage variations and improved load regulation is presented in this paper. It makes use of dynamically-biased shunt feedback as the buffer stage and the LDO regulator can be stable for all load conditions. The proposed structure also employs a momentarily current-boosting circuit to reduce the output voltage to the normal v...
متن کامل1.5 V large-driving class-AB buffer amplifier with quiescent current control - Electronics Letters
Introduction: The class-AB buffer amplifier is widely used for driving heavy resistive or capacitive loads [1–4]. Some buffer amplifiers employ a pseudo-source follower, which has a pair of complementary common-source transistors with two feedback loops consisting of a pair of complementary error amplifiers [1–2]. Employing error amplifiers introduces the excess phase shift and makes the freque...
متن کاملClass AB Output Stages for Low Voltage CMOS Opamps with Accurate Quiescent Current Control by Means of Dynamic Biasing
Two new class AB output stages for CMOS op-amps are proposed with accurate quiescent current control. The second proposed stage also provides accurate control of the minimum current through the output transistors. The proposed stages can be operated with a supply voltage close to a transistor threshold voltage. A dynamic biasing scheme allows them to operate in a wide range of supply voltages. ...
